As we get older, aging becomes inevitable—and along with it, so does hair loss.
Our hair, something we once took for granted, becomes a precious resource we want to protect at all costs. But let’s be honest—sometimes it’s our bad habits that make it worse. ๐ฌ
That’s why Dr. Hansangbo’s advice caught my eye.
It wasn’t about selling expensive treatments or miracle shampoos—he simply said:
“Stop wasting money on overpriced hair loss shampoos!”
I mean, how refreshing is that?
Yep. That’s it.
All we need is proper scalp cleansing.
If we get that part right, we’re already helping our hair stay healthy.
Just like brushing your teeth is essential for dental health,
shampooing the right way is crucial for scalp health—and maybe even your bank account! ๐
Dr. Hansangbo says there are only two types of shampoo we need to consider:
For oily scalps
For dry scalps
If your scalp is oily and gets acne-like bumps,
it’s probably just your hormones acting up—kind of like teenage breakouts.
Which means… you’re still young! (Silver linings, right?)
I’m currently using Head & Shoulders, and he says that’s fine.
As long as you’re using a big-brand shampoo from the supermarket,
you’re good to go.
BUT — never, ever wash your hair with bar soap. ๐ซ
Thoroughly wet your hair with water.
Lather the shampoo in your palms first, then apply to your scalp.
Let the lather sit for 3 minutes so it can break down oils and grime.
(Gently massage with your fingertips, not your nails!)
Rinse thoroughly, no shortcuts here!
It sounds so simple, but these four steps can make a real difference.
Starting now, I’m definitely going to be more mindful with my routine.
I used to have this awful habit of pulling out hair when I was stressed.
Especially from the crown or front hairline…
Turns out, this causes serious damage to hair follicles,
and eventually, those follicles might stop growing hair altogether. ๐ฑ
Even with gray hairs—don’t pluck them!
If they really bother you, just dye them instead.
And please, if you’re going to dye at home,
read the instructions properly! Or better yet,
just go to a salon.
In a world full of overwhelming information and marketing,
it’s easy to get caught up in expensive “miracle” hair products.
But the truth is:
Healthy habits are the real heroes here.
So today, I’m making a personal promise—
To protect the hair I still have, one small habit at a time.
Starting with how I wash it.
From now on, no more lazy shampooing—
Let’s treat our scalps with the same love we give our skin!
